IPD Size
What is IPD? IPD (Interpupillary Distance) is the distance between the centers of your pupils. Selecting the right IPD size helps ensure a clear, comfortable viewing experience and minimizes visual distortion.

2. Getting Started
2.1 How do AR Glasses work?
RayNeo AR glasses work as a portable external display, giving you a private, large-screen viewing experience wherever you go.
The glasses do not require a built-in battery or power button. Simply connect them to a compatible device using the included cable. Your connected device powers the glasses and sends video signals to the display, so you can start using them right away.
With your RayNeo AR glasses, you can:

RayNeo XR App: Enhance Your Experience
You can use your RayNeo AR glasses as an external display without installing any app. However, the RayNeo XR App provides additional app-based features and settings for RayNeo GT / GT Max. For setup instructions, compatibility requirements, and feature details, see Section 5: RayNeo XR App.

3. Buttons & Physical Adjustments
3.1 On-Glasses Button Controls
On the RayNeo GT series, glasses feature the same onboard control layout with three physical buttons, including: Volume Button, Spatial mode Button and Menu Button.

3.2 Nose Pad & Temple Arm Adjustments
Nose Pad
RayNeo GT and GT Max include interchangeable nose pad options for different nose bridge shapes and wearing preferences.
- Choose the nose pad that provides the most secure and comfortable fit while keeping the entire display centered and clearly visible.
- Try each included nose pad option to find the best fit.
- Make sure the nose pad is fully secured before wearing the glasses.
- Adjust the nose pad upward or downward to fine-tune the vertical position of the glasses and center the display.
- If the image still appears too high, too low, or partially cut off, try a different nose pad.
- Do not twist, force, or excessively bend the nose pad assembly.
Temple Arm Adjustments
RayNeo GT and GT Max do not support temple-arm width adjustment. The distance between the left and right temple arms is fixed and cannot be manually adjusted. In contrast, previous-generation RayNeo models support three-level temple-arm width adjustment to accommodate different head widths.
Do not attempt to widen, narrow, twist, or bend the temple arms by force.
3.3 Prescription & Vision Support
For nearsighted users, choose one of the following options to get your lenses:
- Visit Lensology.
- Use the included prescription-lens frame (sample) at a local optical store for fitting.
3.4 USB-C Port
RayNeo GT and GT Max do not have built-in batteries and do not require charging. The USB-C port receives power, video, and audio from the connected source device.
- Connect the glasses using the included USB-C cable.
- The glasses turn on automatically when a compatible power supply and video signal are detected.
- Disconnecting the cable turns off the glasses.
4. Connect to Your Devices
RayNeo GT and GT Max can connect directly to devices that support DisplayPort over USB-C. Devices with HDMI or Lightning output require compatible adapters.

4.3 USB-C DisplayPort Devices
Devices that support DisplayPort over USB-C, DP Alt Mode, or compatible Thunderbolt video output can connect directly to RayNeo GT and GT Max.
Representative Devices: iPhone 15 Pro and Steam Deck. Other compatible smartphones, tablets, laptops, and handheld gaming devices may also be supported.
How to Connect
What You Need: The USB-C cable included with the glasses.

4.4 HDMI Devices
Devices with an HDMI output can connect to RayNeo GT / GT Max using the RayNeo HDMI to Glasses and Charging Adapter.
Representative devices: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and computers with an HDMI output.
What You Need
Refer to the numbered connection diagram:
- An HDMI source device
- A RayNeo HDMI to Glasses and Charging Adapter (sold separately)
- RayNeo GT / GT Max and the USB-C cable included with the glasses
How to Connect
- Connect the RayNeo HDMI adapter directly to the HDMI output port of the source device.
- Use the USB-C cable included with the glasses to connect the adapter to RayNeo GT / GT Max.
- Turn on the source device. The glasses will power on and display the device's video output.

4.5 Lightning Devices
Phones and iPads with a Lightning port can connect to RayNeo GT / GT Max for screen mirroring using an Apple Lightning adapter and a RayNeo HDMI adapter.
Representative devices: iPhone 14 Pro and iPad (9th generation).
How to Connect
What You Need: An Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter, a RayNeo HDMI to Glasses and Charging Adapter, and the USB-C cable included with RayNeo GT / GT Max.

5. RayNeo XR App
The RayNeo XR App expands the media experience available on RayNeo GT / GT Max. However, the app is not required for basic display use. When connected to a compatible device via USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode—or to an HDMI source through a compatible adapter—the glasses function as a plug-and-play external display for screen mirroring or extended display, depending on the source device.
Installing the RayNeo XR App provides access to additional features, including AI-powered 2D-to-3D conversion, immersive 3D playback, spatial photo and video viewing, and media management. Feature availability may vary depending on the connected device, operating system, app version, and glasses firmware.
Installing the app may unlock the following features:

5.2 SBS 3D Video Playback
What This Feature Does
RayNeo GT / GT Max supports playback of compatible SBS 3D videos through the RayNeo XR App on a compatible phone. This feature is intended for videos that are already encoded in SBS 3D format and is separate from AI 2D-to-3D conversion.
An SBS 3D video contains separate left-eye and right-eye images arranged side by side within a single video frame. When SBS 3D mode is enabled, the glasses display the corresponding image to each eye, creating a stereoscopic 3D effect.
How is this different from turning on 3D mode directly on the glasses?
The glasses also support SBS 3D playback — you can enable 3D mode in the glasses settings and watch SBS 3D video sources directly. However, the App delivers noticeably better 3D effect by supporting multiple 3D formats (side-by-side, top-bottom, and more), offering greater depth and a stronger stereoscopic effect than the glasses-only 3D mode.
How to Use It
- Connect RayNeo GT / GT Max directly to a compatible phone using the included USB-C cable.
- Open the RayNeo XR App and tap Enter XR Space.
- Open the video library and select the video you want to watch.
- Tap the selected video to start playback.
- If the playback controls are hidden, tap the video to display the bottom control bar.
- Use the display-mode selector in the bottom control bar and select SBS.
- Switch to full-screen playback and view the video in 3D through the glasses.
5.3 AI 2D-to-3D
What This Feature Does
AI 2D-to-3D adds stereoscopic depth to standard 2D photos and videos, allowing them to be viewed with a 3D effect through RayNeo GT / GT Max.
The activation method differs between photos and videos:
- Photos: AI 3D mode is applied automatically after the photo is opened.
- Videos: AI 3D mode must be enabled manually from the playback controls.

How to Use It in the RayNeo XR App
- Connect RayNeo GT / GT Max directly to a compatible phone using the included USB-C cable.
- Open the RayNeo XR App and tap Enter XR Space.
- Open the photo library.
- Select the 2D photo you want to view.
- The App automatically processes and displays the photo in AI 3D mode.
- View the generated 3D effect through the glasses.

Requirements and Limitations
To use AI 2D-to-3D on videos, all the following requirements must be met.
App Requirement
- Download and use the RayNeo XR App.
- The RayNeo AR App does not support this feature.
Connection Requirement
- Connect RayNeo GT / GT Max directly to the phone using a USB-C cable.
- The phone must support video output through USB-C DisplayPort.
Supported Devices
- iPhone: iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17 series models with USB-C DisplayPort output.
- Android: The phone must meet both of the following requirements:
- Released in 2022 or later.
- Equipped with one of these supported Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship processors: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon 8 Elite, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, or newer supported Snapdragon flagship processors.
Supported Video Formats
AI 2D-to-3D supports standard video files in the following formats:
- Recommended formats: .mp4, .mkv, .mov, .webm
- Other supported formats: .ts, .m2ts, .mts, .avi, .wmv, .flv, .f4v, .rmvb, .rm, .vob, .mpg, .mpeg, .3gp, .dat, .asf

How to Use It in the RayNeo XR App
- Connect RayNeo GT / GT Max directly to a compatible phone using the included USB-C cable.
- Open the RayNeo XR App and tap Enter XR Space.
- Open the video library.
- Select and play the 2D video you want to watch.
- If the playback controls are hidden, tap the video to display the bottom control bar.
- Tap the AI 3D button in the bottom control bar.
- Wait for the App to process the video.
- Continue playback and view the generated 3D effect through the glasses.
5.4 Spatial Photo and Video (on iPhone)
What This Feature Does
The RayNeo XR App allows you to view spatial photos and videos captured on a compatible iPhone through RayNeo GT / GT Max.
Spatial media contains depth information captured by the iPhone. When viewed through the glasses, it provides a stereoscopic viewing experience with a greater sense of depth. Unlike standard 2D media, compatible spatial photos and videos do not require AI 2D-to-3D conversion.
The following iPhone models support spatial video capture:
- iPhone 15 series
- iPhone 16 series, except iPhone 16e
- iPhone 17 series, except iPhone 17 Air / iPhone 17e
How to Use It in the RayNeo XR App
- Make sure the spatial video or stereoscopic photo you want to view is saved in the Photos app on your compatible iPhone.
- Connect RayNeo GT or GT Max directly to the iPhone using the included USB-C cable.
- Open the RayNeo XR App and grant access to Photos when prompted.
- Confirm that "Glasses connected" appears on the app's home screen.
- Tap Enter XR Space.
- Select the appropriate option from the media selector at the bottom of the screen:
- Select Spatial Video to browse spatial videos.
- Select Stereoscopic Photo to browse stereoscopic photos.
- Tap the photo you want to view or the spatial video you want to play.
- The selected content will automatically be displayed through RayNeo GT or GT Max.

7. Troubleshooting & FAQs
7.1 What Should I Do If the Screen Is Black or Shows "No Signal"?
- Reconnect the included USB-C cable and make sure both ends are fully inserted.
- Unlock the connected device and increase the glasses' brightness.
- Confirm that the USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- If using an adapter, make sure it is connected correctly and sufficiently powered.
- Restart the connected device or test another compatible port, cable, or device.
- Check the RayNeo Device Compatibility List for supported devices.
If the issue persists, contact RayNeo Support with the glasses model, connected-device model, and connection method.
7.2 How Can I Fix Blurry Edges and Improve Visual Comfort?
RayNeo GT Max provides S, M, and L optical-module options for different interpupillary distances (IPD), as well as S, M, and L nose-pad heights for different pupil heights.
If the IPD size is correct but the edges are still blurry:
- Try a different nose-pad height to improve vertical eye alignment.
- Wear the glasses level and move them slightly upward or downward until the image is centered.
- Reduce the virtual screen size to keep the image within the clearest viewing area.
- Clean the display lenses and make sure any prescription lenses are installed correctly.
- Close one eye at a time to check whether the blurriness affects one side or both sides.
If one side remains blurry or a fully clear image cannot be achieved, contact RayNeo Support and provide the selected IPD size, nose-pad size, and whether the issue affects one or both eyes.
7.3 How Can I Reduce Audio Leakage and Adjust the Volume?
RayNeo GT / GT Max use an open-ear speaker design. The speaker outlets direct sound toward the wearer, making the audio difficult to hear clearly from approximately 1.5 meters away. However, someone standing very close may still hear some sound.
Adjusting the volume
Use the Volume Rocker on the glasses to increase or decrease the volume.
Switching audio modes
Press and hold the Volume Rocker to switch between:
- Standard
- Whisper
- Spatial Surround
Select Whisper Mode to reduce audio leakage in quiet or public environments. It can also be enabled through RayNeo XR App > Glasses Settings > Whisper Mode.
7.4 How Can I Manage Heat and Reduce Battery Drain on the Connected Device?
The connected device powers the glasses and processes video, so slight warmth and increased battery consumption are normal. Use the appropriate power-saving feature for your viewing mode.
When Playing Videos in XR Space: Eco Mode
- Tap More in the lower-right corner of the video player.
- Turn on Eco Mode.
- The phone screen will dim under a black overlay while the video continues playing on the glasses.
When Using Screen Casting: Auto-Dim Brightness
- Open Immersive Casting in the RayNeo XR App.
- On the casting control screen, tap Glasses Settings.
- Enable Auto-Dim Brightness and adjust the Minimum Brightness if needed.
After 10 seconds of inactivity, a dark overlay will appear to reduce the phone screen's power consumption. Casting will continue normally.
Tap Temporarily Brighten Screen to remove the overlay. It will return after another 10 seconds of inactivity.
You can also lower the glasses' brightness, close unused apps, keep the connected device well ventilated, and disconnect the glasses when they are not in use.
7.5 How Do I Import Media into the RayNeo XR App?
- Open the RayNeo XR App and go to: Me > XR Space Guide > Media Import Guide
- Select the import method that matches your media source—AirDrop, Mac/PC, or Cloud Drive/Web—and follow the on-screen instructions.
- After importing the media, return to the RayNeo XR App and refresh the media list.
7.6 How Do I Update the Firmware on RayNeo GT / GT Max?
The following instructions update the firmware installed on the glasses. They do not update your phone's operating system or the RayNeo XR App.
For Android Phone Users
When new glasses firmware is available, the RayNeo XR App will normally display an update notification automatically. Tap Update Now to begin or Update Later to postpone it.
To check for updates manually:
- Connect the glasses to your Android phone.
- Open the RayNeo XR App.
- On the app homepage, go to Glasses Settings > Firmware upgrade.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the glasses.
For Non-Android Users
This includes iPhone users and others who cannot update through the Android app. Use a Windows PC or Mac:
- Open the RayNeo Firmware Update Page in Chrome.
- Connect the glasses to the computer's USB-C port.
- Click Start Connecting.
- In the device-selection pop-up, select RayNeo AR Glasses, then click Connect.
- If an update is available, click Start Upgrade and connect RayNeo AR Glasses again when prompted.
- Keep the glasses connected until the progress bar shows that the update is complete.
