Prescription Data Privacy Notice
Last Updated: 09/16/2026
This Notice sets out how RayNeo Co., Ltd. and its affiliates involved in providing the customized prescription lens service (“we”, “us” or “our”) protect the personal information we process relating to you when you purchase customized prescription lens products or provide prescription or other vision-related information to us.
This Notice supplements our general Privacy Policy. This Notice applies specifically to the processing of prescription, vision-related and other consumer health information in connection with our customized prescription lens service. In the event of any inconsistency between this Notice and our general Privacy Policy with respect to such information, this Notice will prevail. For matters not specifically addressed in this Notice, our general Privacy Policy will continue to apply.

1. Personal Information We Collect

When you request customized prescription lenses, we will collect the following information:
  • Your right-eye and left-eye prescription parameters, including sphere (SPH), cylinder (CYL), and axis;
  • Your pupillary distance (PD);
  • Prescription documents, including photographs, scans or other images of prescriptions that you choose to upload; and
  • Order information generated in connection with your prescription lens order.
We collect your prescription data directly from you.
We collect order information from information generated by us in connection with your order.
A prescription document you upload may contain additional personal information, such as your name, date of birth, prescription date, healthcare provider information, patient or medical record number, or other health-related information.
We ask that you provide only the information necessary for us to provide the customized prescription lens service. Where possible, you should crop, redact or otherwise remove unrelated information, such as your address, telephone number, patient or medical record number, or medical information unrelated to your prescription lens order, before uploading your prescription.
Depending on applicable law, prescription and vision-related information may be considered health information, sensitive personal information, special category personal data, or consumer health data and may therefore be subject to additional legal protections.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We process your prescription and vision-related information only as necessary to:
  • Verify the prescription parameters you provide;
  • Manufacture customized prescription lenses according to your specifications;
  • Conduct production and quality-control checks;
  • Associate the manufactured lenses with the correct order;
  • Fulfil and deliver your order;
  • Provide customer service, warranty, return, remake or other after-sales services; and
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal claims and comply with applicable legal obligations where necessary.
We do not use your prescription or vision-related information for targeted advertising or marketing.
We will not use your prescription information to train artificial intelligence models or create health-related profiles about you unless we provide you with a separate notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on the legal bases appropriate to the relevant processing activity and jurisdiction.
  • Performance of a contract with you. For users in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and other jurisdictions applying similar requirements, we generally process personal information that is necessary to provide the prescription lens service in order to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Your explicit consent. Because prescription and vision-related information may constitute data concerning health, we may also ask for your explicit consent where required by applicable law to process such information.
  • Compliance with legal obligations. We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, court orders or other legally binding obligations.
  • Establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Where permitted by applicable law, we may retain or otherwise process relevant information where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, subject to applicable law. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Because prescription information is necessary to manufacture customized prescription lenses, if you withdraw your consent before your order has been manufactured or fulfilled, we may be unable to complete the customized prescription lens service you requested.

4. How We Disclose and Share Your Personal Information

We may disclose prescription information only to parties that reasonably need it for the purposes described in this Notice, including:
  • Authorized prescription lens manufacturers, laboratories and design or production service providers that assist us in manufacturing, verifying or quality-checking customized prescription lenses;
  • RayNeo affiliates that are involved in providing or supporting the customized prescription lens service;
  • Information technology, hosting, storage, cybersecurity and other technical service providers that process information on our behalf;
  • Professional advisers, such as legal advisers, auditors or insurers, where disclosure is reasonably necessary for professional services or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
  • Governmental, regulatory, judicial or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
We do not sell your prescription or vision-related information.
We do not disclose your prescription information to data brokers or advertising networks for targeted advertising.
We will take appropriate measures to ensure the protection level of your personal information will not be undermined after the transfer or sharing.

5. International Transfers of Personal Information

RayNeo operates internationally, and the service providers and manufacturing facilities that support our customized prescription lens service may operate in different jurisdictions.
As a result, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, accessed from or otherwise processed in jurisdictions outside the country or region in which you reside.
Regardless of where your personal information is processed, we take steps designed to ensure that it remains protected in accordance with this Notice and applicable data protection laws.
Where required by applicable law, we have implemented appropriate contractual, technical and organizational safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

6. How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

We generally retain prescription and vision-related information for no longer than 12 months from the date on which it is collected, to the extent reasonably necessary for manufacturing, quality control, order fulfilment, customer support, after-sales services and dispute resolution.
We may retain certain information for a longer period where necessary to:
  • comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting, regulatory or recordkeeping requirements;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • investigate fraud, misuse or security incidents; or
  • comply with a valid preservation request or other legal obligation.
Where a longer retention period is not required or permitted, we will delete, de-identify or anonymize personal information when the applicable retention period expires.

7. How We Protect Your Personal Information

We recognize the sensitive nature of prescription and vision-related information and maintain reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect it against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, loss or destruction.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information or consumer health data, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and exercise any other rights available under applicable law. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the methods set out in Section 10.
